If you want the rim deep for aero you don t need to go that deep. These are heavier but are cheaper than a complete carbon rim owing to lower manufacturing and development costs. Deep section rims range from around 30 mm. Deep section rims are built from carbon fiber because aluminum rims of equivalent height would be very heavy and could not be rolled into a circle without wrinkling.

The rim is made from durable alloy and measures 23 mm wide and 37 mm deep. The spokes are also black for a modern look with 18 in the front and 24 in the rear. Some deep section wheels feature a carbon fairing placed over an aluminum rim. If you want to go deeper you are better off with the latest generation carbon.

Choose wheels from 13 inch to 26 inch diameters select lightweight aluminum or high strength steel construction and complete the look with polished matte or chrome finishes. Wide and rounded is best. Carbon rims can be built much deeper than aluminum rims but with much less weight than a similar profle aluminum rim. Both wheels come in at a weight of a little less than 1800 g.

The deep section rims are based around the d2 rim shape which the brand says offers the best aero performance in both head and crosswinds. It comes in a black anodized finish.

Carbon fiber rims provide the best benefit of a deeper aero profile without the weight penalty of an aluminum rim. You are getting some seriously good wheels for your money here.
