Cutting heat transfer vinyl by hand.
It is applied to clothing or other textiles with heat and pressure.
Heat transfer vinyl is often called htv or t shirt vinyl.
As part of showing you how to cut heat transfer vinyl with the cricut i want to show you some tips for applying the vinyl to the mat.
In this case i had yellow and the back is white.
Start with a simple one color design for a t shirt.
And it just takes vinyl scissors a star punch and a few minutes to make that s it.
Adhere your heat transfer vinyl with the shiny backing side down onto your cutting mat and load into your machine.
Heat transfer vinyl i always buy mine from expressions vinyl aff.
The shiny side always goes down.
This process will be a little bit different for every cutting machine but just make sure to choose the settings for the particular type of heat transfer vinyl you are using flocked htv will have very different settings from smooth htv for instance.

Adjust cut settings and cut.
The wide open space of t shirt fabric gives you lots of room to maneuver and isn t too fiddly for your first time.

Glitter heat transfer vinyl can be tricky to weed so we d only recommend using it once you ve gotten used to it with normal vinyl cutting.
If you have more than one color please note you need to mirror on all the mats.
